Alli's roles at the Workcentre
Training Manager
- Responsible for design of all new programmes, contracting, reporting, performance audits, management of programmes and staff, responsible for staff training, student welfare, accountable to Workcentre Trustees and actioning their directives, programme budgets, overview of all training courses and quality assurance, liaison with Government Agencies and stakeholders.
- Also manages all programmes as follows: Training for Work (T4W), Youth Guarantee, AE, In Work Support, CV Services, Counterpoint Intensive Support, all individual TIA programmes etc. Responsible for purchasing materials and equipment costs, staff Performance Appraisals and Employment Agreements and Training Team leader.
Community Development Worker
- Supported by funding from The Lottery Grants Board, The Tindall Foundation, The Rātā Foundation and the Community Employment Group does a whole range of things from: working with other community groups in capacity building and applying for funds, applies for funds for Workcentre new projects eg: Youth House, represents the Workcentre on community development projects like Village Green, responds to and Living Well in Golden Bay, community initiatives (eg: set up of Community Classes), supports individual's needs, does all reporting and accountability for grants, designs and submits proposals for new projects etc.
- Designing programmes for learning, recreation and rehabilitation
- Negotiating with government agencies
- Applying for funds for Workcentre projects - reporting and accountability
- Assisting other community groups with development, governance and management issues, writing funding applications, reporting and accountability
- Responding to community initiatives
- Developing and maintaining relationships and networks
- Managing publicity and media
- Developing Codes of Ethics and Practice for Workcentre and other community organisations
- Facilitating community meetings
- Liaising with local and regional authorities
Community House Facilities Co-ordinator
- Basically just looks out for people, the house maintenance and repairs, gardens Applies for funds for development projects to house and facilities (eg: Pottery Studio and extensions to computer suite), promotes the Workcentre and the community house etc.
Manager Golden Bay Workcentre Trust
- Designing and developing programmes of learning
- Developing support and guidance programmes for community members
- Negotiating contracts with government agencies and other stakeholders
- Meeting contractual obligations, reporting and accountability
- Working with clients and stakeholders
- Managing staffing requirements and personnel
- Overall supervision of Workcentre's activities in community
- Managing relationships with community and stakeholders
- Managing all audit procedures

To travel to the UK to research key strategies for community consultation processes and implementation of community identified priorities for sustainable rural regeneration. Report document on file with Winston Churchill Fellowship and National Archives.
